How to Donate a Horse to NCMT
NCMT gladly accepts donations of suitable horses and ponies into its program.
New Canaan Mounted Troop offers two categories of Donations:

Use Donation of a Horse (the donor maintains ownership of the horses, and donates the use of the horse to NCMT's programs for an agreed period of time and conditions outlined in the "Use Donation Agreement").

Full Donation of a Horse (Owners fully donate ownership of the horse to New Canaan Mounted Troop, and are entitled to a tax donation to the extent of the law for the value of the horse).
Donated horses and ponies receive the highest quality daily care, medical care, nutritional and supplementation programs, and exercise programs appropriate for each individual horse. They receive personal love and attention on a daily basis.
Most commonly, horses are evaluated during a 30-day trial period before acceptance, to determine suitability and to ensure that the horse is happy and comfortable in our environment.
Most of our horsemanship team has been generously donated to us. We accept all breeds of horses from different backgrounds provided that we have stall availability and the horses are appropriate for our program's needs. It is a wonderful way to support the equestrian and enrich the lives of children.
