Volunteering For Super Troopers

Consider volunteering for our therapeutic equine care and riding programs!

Super Troopers welcomes adult and teenage (14 and up) volunteers from all walks of life. Responsibilities can include greeting students, horse grooming and tack up, side walking, leading,  arena activity set up, and cleaning tack. Orientation and training are provided on-site before each session. If you have no prior experience, this is a great way to learn by working with our PATH certified instructors and trained volunteers. We look forward to hearing from you!

** In determining your availability, please note that all volunteers need to arrive 15 minutes before all EQUINE CARE classes and 45 minutes prior to all RIDING classes. The horses need to be in the ring for tack check and hand walking 15 min prior to the start of class.

Fall 2018 Super Troopers Orientation Schedule

ORIENTATION

In order to best serve our volunteers, we are conducting separate orientations for adaptive riding and equine care this fall, with the opportunity to attend both during orientation week. New and experienced volunteers will work in separate groups in the arena and the barn.

Sunday, September 9th Sunday volunteers only
9-10am: New Volunteer General Orientation
9-10am: Adaptive Riding Barn Team Training – grooming/tacking horses
10-11:30am: Adaptive Riding Sidewalker Training & Horse Leader Training

Tuesday, September 11th Monday – Friday volunteers
9-10am: New Volunteer General Orientation
9-10am: Adaptive Riding Barn Team Training – grooming/tacking horses
10-noon: Adaptive Riding Sidewalker Training & Horse Leader Training
10-noon: Equine Care Program Training 

Thursday, September 13th   Monday – Friday volunteers
9-10am: New Volunteer General Orientation
9-10am: Adaptive Riding Barn Team Training – grooming/tacking horses
10-noon: Adaptive Riding Sidewalker Training & Horse Leader Training
10-noon: Equine Care Program Training

Please note that all volunteers are required to attend one volunteer orientation during training week.
